How might your current work contribute to the sustainability movement?
I am currently specializing in sustainable and socially responsible investment practices. I am also the president of the UCSB Investment Advisory Committee, a group responsible for generating research, formulating recommendations, and directly investing funds for the University of California, Santa Barbara.
In what ways do you personally identify with the Sustainability & Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I am in the process of formulating an investor's guide to peak resource extraction. Essentially, this guide provides asset allocation recommendations predicated the impending depletion of vital natural resources.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
I have worked in the hedge fund, venture capital, and investment banking industries. My background in finance enables me to analyze environmental issues from an economic perspective.
What aspects of the sustainability movement most interests you?
I have formulated and published investment strategies that capitalize on a peak in petroleum extraction and subsequent energy shortages. Transition Town provides a forum for discourse related to resource depletion and the implicated environmental and economic issues.
