WELCOME TO THE TRANSITION SANTA CRUZ COMMUNITY GROUP!

Transition Santa Cruz is a collaborative effort to prepare Santa Cruz for a future in which cheap, abundant energy is no longer available. We aim to become resilient and able to handle the stresses of  peak oil and climate change, by building a thriving local economy and community that is not heavily dependent on any particular outside resource. In the process, we will be taking some of the most effective steps we can take to reduce our impact on the climate system.

Hello --My name is Felicity Rosencranz and I recently joined TT Santa Cruz. Presently I am connected to the Monarch Community School, where both my sons attend. Right now, the older class, the Sky kids, are studying economic justice and creating their own model towns and cities, and I thought it would be a GREAT idea if anyone who was experienced in the idea of TT could come and speak to the class to plant the seed for the future in the minds of these young people who are the leaders of the future! Perhaps they could incorporate the idea of TT into their model of the city, so that they blueprints of it would already exist in their minds when they are done with this project. Michael, would you be willing to come and speak to Denise's Sky class? They are in construction now and would need to be presented to very soon! Please feel free to contact me, or Denise in the Sky class. I have already spoken to her about this idea and she is excited about it--F.

Hi Michael,
I have a son living in Santa Cruz, visit there frequently, and lived there 20 years until 2000. I'm now a member of Transition San Luis Obispo County. I would love to see my former town become a Transition Town. How far along are you in the development of the group working on this? My son runs a Green Business, and would appreciate information on this group in his area.
