Please join us for “Questioning Our Assumptions, Tapping Our Group Wisdom”, a series of conversations, every other Wednesday evening beginning 17 November, 6:30 to 9:00 at a home in Santa Clara. Each session we will explore some of the assumptions that underlie our society and seek, through facilitated sharing of our own perspectives, to find attitudes we can adopt and actions we can take to help birth a world that works for all. Come to see other views and leave energized to birth a new vision. Bring your open mind, a willingness to share honestly, and your skepticism. Space is limited. Please R.S.V.P. to derek@derekjoetennant.net to receive briefing materials and workshop guidelines. Find more information about the topics we will discuss at http://derekjoetennant.net/QOAWorkshop.htm Donations gratefully accepted.

I would like to let everyone know, there is an "Awakening The Dreamer, Changing the Dream" Symposium, free and open to the public, on Saturday, 6 November, in Cupertino. You can pre-register (it helps us know how many chairs to set up) and get more details at www.awakeningthedreamer.org. I am happy to answer questions, derek@derekjoetennant.net

Hey Bud, I tried sending you a private message but it won't let me. Could you connect me up with a free pass? I only have time to attend tomorrow. I'll be on CalTrain and will need help getting back to the station at whenever dinner is done.

Hi,

Great to hear from you, David!

Please all, see Events for more info about SF Green Festival. I can get you a free pass and we will ask you to join us for dinner Saturday night. (Who wants to leave SF at 7pm on a Saturday night? )

Bud

Hi Bud, I have been neglecting to sign up with that workshop and am almost certain to do so.

I hadn't been aware of the Green Festival and will have to look and see if it's something my schedule allows.

Hi all,

This is Bud Smith from Transition San Francisco, a proud former Silicon Valley denizen - with startups, tech journalism, Apple, Microsoft, AltaVista and others in my background.

We at TSF are co-hosting a Community Resilience Workshop on Saturday, April 17th in partnership with Bay Localize. It's all day and we would love to have one or more TSVers attend. Please post here if interested.

We would also love to say hi to any of you who are attending SF Green Festival this weekend, let me know if you are coming by posting here.

Cheers,

Bud

PS I think some of you below are right about TSV needing to be a hub, that's what TSF is shaping up as, wrt neighborhood groups. We also find having a hub is good for networking around the Bay Area, it saves the neighborhood groups having to worry about that level too much; they can just plug in as needed.

Well, I thought we agreed to skip it.

If you have something on your mind then ..well.. I am free this evening and could meet.
Comment by Tara Atkins-Brown on February 10, 2010 at 2:20pm
Hi Paul - I thought we were meeting but spoke to William who too thought we decided to skip it. I'd be interested in meeting about Tansition Silicon Valley at some point to discuss what we're hoping to accomplish more broadly and our direction. What are others thoughts? Should we wait until March's meeting or meet sooner?

How serious is climate change?

How serious is the danger of climate change? The following attempts to give data that supports the theory that the danger is very high and immediate. It is possible the extreme weather conditions we experience are a prelude to the collapse of the current and relatively precarious state of the climate known as the interglacial phase. Greenhouse gas emissions have usually led to fast increase in the reflectivity of the planet as noted below. This appears to have been the case for past onslaught…See More
