Hello - I’ve been a gardener for most of my adult life, my focus right now is on growing in a cold climate. I live in the southern California Mountains at 7000’ so the growing season is short and the winters are cold. My goal is to develop a program like the one at Four Seasons Farm in Maine; growing year round in unheated green houses.

I am also very interested solar cooking, just built my first oven, have yet to try it out.

I have grown my own food, and have belonged to CSA farm shares with local farmers for 8 years. I would like to connect more with others to do 100-mile potlucks, which I am also starting to promote in my spiritual fellowship, and in an inter-faith group to which I belong. I am just learning about solar cooking, and hope to begin that soon. I have promoted local foods through several organizations, including Central Coast Ag Network and farm to school programs. Thanks, Joanne P. for the resources!

I have an Edible Landscape at my home in Los Angeles, and I designed / teach at / help run a small community garden in our neighborhood. I'm a devoted farmers' market shopper and enthusiastic cook. I do solar cooking fairly regularly, too. Our local environmental group has held 100-mile potlucks and solar cooking craft events.

Hi...very interested in local food production as a local organic farmer in Los Osos. Pictured her with vegan daughter Kelli. On the organizing board of Coast Grown Coop--local farms and ranches organizing to more efficiently market and distribute locally grown food to restaurants, schools, hospitals and eventually homes....

Are there any freegans out there? I have a friend who is writing an article and might want to talk to you. Definitely qualifies as "local". :)
