Ukiah is in Mendocino County and is about 25 miles from Willits. Jason Bradford and lots of other Willits folks created WELL (the Willits Economic Localization Link) organization about 5 years ago in Willits and I have been to several of their events. I live in between Willits and Ukiah and am active in the Mendocino Environmental Center (aka the MEC) in Ukiah. We are putting on an event next Sat., Oct 3rd, that is partly to educate folks about a ballot proposition on the Nov. 3rd ballot, but also partly to help people, including local political folks, envision and discuss some Transition Town issues for Ukiah and Mendocino County.
I would apprciate any suggestions we at the MEC can utilize at our event next Saturday, or other times in the future.
A few years ago Bob Banner came to Ukiah and showed the film, "the Real Dirt on Farmer John" which was great and pretty well attended. Ukiah and Mendocino County in general have lots of potential to move in some creative, positive directions in the near future. We invite your input, and want to be more active with this website.
This is great, Sandy, and I'd like to help out. I'm finding it hard to orient around creating suggestions, though, as I think I need more pointed questions to work with as well as more details on how you are fleshing out the Oct 3 event.
